XDR-M1

Why you'll fancy it: Sold under the Walkman brand, the XDR-M1 lets you listen to FM radio as well as DAB. It's a neat black box with tasteful styling that's typical Sony. We liked the balanced design -- the elegant LCD screen is the same size as the silver control panel. One hitch is that it sorts radio stations in groups that are broadcast on the same frequency, and we found this a bit annoying. We much prefer radios that list the stations alphabetically.
