Philips' 32-inch LCD uses Ambilight technology to light up your living room with a coloured glow that matches the image on the screen. It's supposed to relax the eyes and boost the contrast, and it certainly gives the television presence. With the backlight on, the picture seems to stretch outside the screen -- but is the 32PF9830 tripping the light fantastic, or just falling over its feet?
