Sony PSP: Accessorise This

Tip 3: Movies on the move
We've already covered how to get movies from your computer onto the PSP, but what if you don't have a large memory stick or the time to invest in converting? Well, luckily Sony has your back, and there are more movies available at launch for the PSP than there are games. You should buy at least one just to see how good they are, so here's CNET.co.uk's choices for portable AV delight.
Best Movie
Alien
What better film could make it into your palms than Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic? Indeed, in the IMDb's Top Rated movies, Alien is only one of four films to see a UMD release (along with Donnie Darko, Oldboy and Kill Bill Vol. 1). The disc itself is pretty barren, like most other UMD releases. But it's the movie that maketh the disc, and until they release Terminator 2, this is the best one out there.
Best Looking
Spider-Man 2
As a relatively new film, Spider-Man 2 benefits from all the latest digital jiggery-pokery to fit on UMD, and as such it looks absolutely fantastic. It's also one of the few sequels that can lay claim to being better than the original. And the best thing is, if you buy one of the first batch of PSPs and register on the website, Sony will send it to you for free.
Best Animation
Akira
We'd love to have something like The Incredibles to show off our shiny new PSP, but we're more than happy to have Akira in the meantime. We love it so much that we'd happily shell out again to have a copy with us at all times. It's the one anime that nearly everyone's seen -- a classic tale of a biker gang captured by the military before experimentation unleashes latent psychic ability with the power to blow up the world. Okay, it's not something that Disney would produce and consequently it's not for kids, but it set the standard for animation when it was released all the way back in 1988.
Best of the Rest
Sin City
Robert Rodriguez's shot-for-shot remake of the graphic novel arrives on UMD on 26 September along with the DVD, and is due to be one of the biggest UMD releases to date. A massive all-star cast and an ultra-violent film noir style make this one of the most distinctive films of recent years.
Extras
Ricky Gervais' self-described "disappointing follow-up" to The Office might not be as excruciatingly funny, but in 30-minute doses it'll be perfect for your commute when it's released on 31 October. With the PSP sitting in your hand on the bus, all you need now is Nathan Barley, so you can look like him while watching him.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Another UMD to see simultaneous release with the DVD, THGTG won mixed reviews when it was launched in the cinema, if only because the source material was so beloved to fans. It should find a home on UMD though -- the quaint British humour is perfect for the journey into work.
