How to get music onto your Walkman phone

Tip 3: Troubleshooting
Unfortunately, following all these steps doesn't always result in the software or phone working properly. Check that your computer fulfils the system requirements (see Tip 1) and try rebooting your computer. If it still isn't working, it's worth installing the software on a friend's computer to make sure that it's not a problem with your computer.
You can also try uninstalling the software and starting again, making sure you have followed every step correctly. If it still isn't working there may be something wrong with your phone, so it's worth contacting Sony Ericsson or asking for a replacement phone from the shop.
You can also transfer music onto your Walkman phone without using the software. This is useful if you're having a problem with the software or are running an Apple Mac.
To transfer files directly, plug the phone into your computer using the Sony Ericsson USB cable and select file transfer mode on the phone. You will then see two new drives appear on your computer -- these will either appear automatically, or can be found in the My Computer section of the Start menu under Devices with Removable Storage.
The drives will be called phone and phone card. You can put music on both drives, but there is usually more space on the phone card than on the phone. You will need to copy your MP3s into the MP3 folder of the phone card drive. Once you have finished transferring MP3 files, make sure you eject the phone using the Safely Remove Hardware icon that appears in the Windows Systems Tray. You should then be able to play the files you have transferred on your phone.
