Festival photos that rock!
Festivals aren't all music, dancing and drug addled self-discovery. For the photographer they represent one of the best opportunities to capture people behaving in ways they wouldn't dream of back in the mundane enclaves of their homes and offices.
Shoot sequences

Coverage of an event with multiple shots gives you more to work with in the digital darkroom when picking the perfect image. Most digital SLRs will shoot several frames per second when you hold the shutter button down. This is especially useful when capturing a fast-moving subject you have no control over. By the time the pose composition you're looking for has occurred, it's sometimes too late to take the photo. By taking several shots of the same subject in rapid succession, you increase the chances that you'll get the picture you're after.
Shooting sequences can elevate your shot from good to great. While you shouldn't use it as an alternative to thinking seriously about the composition of your shots, it is an invaluable tool for getting coverage in tricky situations.
This is one photograph from a sequence of four shots we took as this magically unmuddied girl made her way across the festival ground. We picked this shot from the sequence because of the interesting dynamic between the brightly coloured girl and her friend and the arrangement of other dull-coloured characters in the scene.
