Outlook horror stories
Microsoft Outlook is the Jekyll and Hyde of the Microsoft Office suite. When Outlook is good, it's very very good. But when it's bad, it's a horror.
We love Outlook when it's reminding us of appointments, helping us to schedule meetings, alerting us of e-mail from the boss, and reminding us of our deadlines. Then with no warning our adorable little friend turns on us, and reaches for the knives. Searches crash the system. We find ourselves buried alive in an Inbox with the walls closing in. Then there are those pernicious, pervasive, flesh-eating e-mail viruses. All too soon, our Outlook dream is a nightmare. And we can't wake up.
For each day of the week, we'll tackle an Outlook nightmare. Our expert tips and downloads will help you chase away the Outlook gremlins hiding in your closet.

Windows XP SP2 nightmares
Windows XP was getting leaky, like an old, rotting ghost ship beset by code-eating worms and skulking security monsters. So to exorcise this ship's demons, Microsoft had to purge the ghouls, then patch like never before. The good ship Windows XP SP2 has set sail.
Wi-Fi horrors
Wi-Fi networks are terrifying. Of course, they're scary to set up, but even more frightening is how quickly we grow to rely on them. We love it when they obey our commands, but wireless connections leave us paralysed when they suddenly stop working.
eBay nightmares
One day, you're blithely surfing eBay and stumble across a Ziggy Zebra Beanie Baby -- the perfect gift for your kid. You place a bid, then another bid, and another. Finally you manage to snatch it from the grasp of a dozen other eBay buyers.
