Why did you buy it?
I bought it to illustrate designs for handbags that I'm working on at the moment.
What does it do for you?
It helps me to visualise what my designs will look like before the handbags are made. It also helps the companies I design for understand where I'm heading with the designs they've commissioned. Once my drawings are complete, they go off to factories on the other side of the world where the samples are manufactured -- these factories use the Illustrator files to fabricate my designs.
Would you recommend it to others? Why?
Hell, yeah. It's the best software available for fashion design. Everyone I know in the industry uses it to create their designs. If you want to get into the world of graphic art, you have to know Illustrator or Freehand, they're easy to get started with and incredibly powerful once you know what you're doing.
