WHY I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY
Commodore SR7919
Why did you buy it?
Mainly for subtraction, but sometimes for addition and once or twice for multiplication. I'm now known as a calculator collector. It's not because I consciously chose to be one, but people saw I had an old calculator and now they keep giving them to me.
What does it do for you?
It saves me having to use the Windows desktop calculator, which is painful. The other advantage to having this antique calculator is that nobody tries to steal it. Little do they know that it's actually an appreciating asset. Some early Sharp calculators sell for as much as £70 on eBay.
Would you recommend it to others? Why?
I'd recommend it to anyone who has 50p and sharp eyes during a car boot sale. The only problem with it is the battery life -- you have to remember to manually turn it off or the 9v rechargeable battery inside will run flat.
