Why did you buy it?

My day job can be quite demanding, so it's fun to be able to come home, plug my Gretsch into the amp and crank out some power chords while yelling lyrics like, "Ragagagggaggagaggggghhhh!!"

What does it do for you?

It relaxes me in a way no other gadget can. It's glittery so I look like a proper rock star, and I've bought a strap for it that looks like it fell off a vehicle in Mad Max. A good guitar is like an old friend.

Would you recommend it to others? Why?

If you want a slightly unusual looking electric with a nice tone, then I'd definitely recommend a Gretsch. The only bad thing about this guitar is the weight, it's not the lightest guitar in the world -- in fact it feels like you've got two Fender Stratocasters slung around your neck. Still, it looks better and sounds crunchier.
